At Nat & Nin, we like surprising customers every season with new colours, new textures and new prints. We explore the most carefully crafted leather and seek out rare gems. The feel, radiance, durability, weight (feather) and strength of the leather are examined with a fine-tooth comb. We also make it a priority to select leather that respects the environment and complies with European standards (REACH), and which is worked in Italian and French tanneries (LWG Silver certified) recognized for their savoir-faire and reliability.

Every season, this means that Nat & Nin collections contain different leathers and split leathers (always from calves) married to give more contours and richness to the visual landscape. Find all the details of the leathers used on each color of our products.

Smooth leather - Italy and France

Timeless and sturdy, this leather offers a silky, very sensual touch, with a delicate patina over time.

Colors: Black, Pomelo, Eclipse, Biscuit, Cherry, Paprika, Forest

Peachskin leather - Italy

Its aspect is slightly nubucked and its velvety touch. Its surface has been lightly sanded to obtain this very soft and delicate peach skin finish. Depending on the collection, it can be more or less grained and shaded in its colors. More fragile than other types of leather, it should be used with care and requires a certain amount of maintenance.

Colors: Spice, Clover, Sienna, Baltic

Cracked ice leather - Italy

Its cracked and slightly shiny appearance gives it a natural elegance and a very "vintage" look.

Colors: Jade, Grape

Patina effect leather - Italy

This smooth, stiff and robust leather offers more hold and goes through the seasons without getting wrinkled.

Colors: Mango, Dune, Blush, Bluestone, Ivory, Peacock, Red, Fig, Honey

Printed leather - Italy

A full grain cowhide leather with a print (reptile, crocodile or lizard) obtained thanks to a plate on the skin, for an embossed and two-tone effect. A delicate finish that brings a singular character to each accessory.

Colors: Reptile print, Crocodile print, Lizard Print

Patent leather - Italy

This smooth patent leather offers a smooth, glossy finish. Elegant and refined, this leather reveals its brilliance and sublimates with each use.

Colors: Black patent, blush and ivory

Vegetable tanned leather - France

A more rigid, authentic and robust leather, obtained through vegetable tanning (tannins derived from organic substances such as sap, leaves and vegetable bark), as opposed to mineral tanning. Its minimalism, raw aspect and thickness give it a particular vintage charm.

Colors: Black, Natural, Bordeaux, Navy, Camel and Nude.

Recycled leather - Italy

It is a rigid leather made from scraps of leather. In order to become a strong and durable material, the recovered pieces of leather are collected, then crushed and mixed with natural latex. Composition: 60% vegetable-tanned leather, 25% natural latex and 15% binders.

Color: Recycled black

Made with full grain calfskin

We mainly work with full grain calfskin leather, a co-product of the food chain that we revalue into a sustainable product: leather bags and accessories that accompany you every day. The top grain is a noble part of the leather, having retained its original surface and displaying natural marks etched into the skin. These marks, as well as any different nuances in the colours of the skin, are typical characteristics of full grain leather and make each piece unique.

The slight imperfections in the leather (scars, growth marks, colour or grain variations) are entirely normal and do not affect the quality of the leather. On the contrary, they guarantee its authenticity. Leather is a natural, living material that requires a lot of delicacy and care.

Respectful leather

Being transparent about the origin and manufacture of our leather is one of our top priorities. The partner tanneries guarantee the origin and traceability of the leather, as well as compliance with labour rights.

Nat & Nin leathers are tanned in accordance with applicable laws in the European Community, in compliance with REACH regulation (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals). The tanning of the leathers is certified as free from nitrogen and heavy metals. Our partner tanneries are regularly inspected by accredited laboratories to guarantee compliance with these standards. The tanning process, friendly to the environment and health, guarantees authentic and non-allergenic leather that has a soft, pleasant and delicate feel.
